Is mid/late game too easy?

Postby ysbryd » Thu May 19, 2011 9:11 pm

Okay I will probably get slammed for this, but is anyone else feeling that later game, everything is just too easy?
I'm not talking about the early days, when earning lp is a hell of a grind, and the thought of earning 200k lp a day is just an impossible dream, but later, when you have your farm set up, and the mine going well, earning that sort of lp in a day is not only achievable, but almost inevitable.
There doesnt seem to be a push anymore, and watching the forums I see a lot of established players who seem to be feeling a bit meh about the game, if not actually leaving.
Dont get me wrong, I am in no way advocating the return to the olden days of tripping over wicker baskets, just, there seems to be a feeling of.. this is too easy? No challenge left.
If you have a good village, hell you can earn that without even signing in for more than ten minutes a day..
Just putting it out there, I have no solutions, just wondered what people think
Can anybody fly this thing?

The reason people are "meh" about the game is that there hasn't been any new content released in ages. The game is fun and entertaining at all levels, the problem is that a majority of us have already done this stuff 300 times before, so it's a bit boring at this point.

No one has ever reached late game!
Mid game takes too long. Somewhat easy, maybe 'medium', but takes too long.

Lolololol. What do you consider late game to be?

I consider it to be once you've pulled off Q2000+ stuff. Otherwise, there's no "late game" since there is no plot.

Late game could be considered world domination to some extent.

Late Game to me is passing all softcaps. Notably cows/sheep/pig/chicken bones past Troll Bone Q, trees past hardest cap. At this point you are done with that 'DAM NNIGGA WHY ALL MY BONES CAPPED AT Q400! AND MY TREES STUCK AT 200!" and you're like "YEEHAW MOTHERFUCKER MORE QUALITY EVERY WEEK!"

LOL at some of the replies here, good on ya guys.
Guess I was thinking mid game is when everythings organised and its just pushing q
Like the world domination idea, not for myself, Im not that way inclined.. but a bit more action on the forums and news of proper raids, (ie not using glitches and not against hermits or nubs) would be cool and put back that risk factor. Nothing like a good global war to spice things up :D
Glad theres still some die hards of the old school, place would be poorer without you

The way I see it:
Early - Starting off, getting boat building, the basics to start a city, maybe working on getting your first palisade up, all crops, etc
Early-mid - Got all your crops/initial palisade up, scouting out area for a good village, getting village setup and organized STARTING AND FINISHING BRICKWALL AROUND IT.
Mid - Expansion around your area, getting all basic metals in spades, raising trees, silk, all of that, basic Q raising of all of it.
Late-Mid - Expanded modestly around your SG, pretty good HQ resources, decent warriors, decent bone/cow Q, trees continually raising
Late - Past the point of Top-Q in all of the surpass-able partial-hard limits (Trees, Bones, Metal, etc), aggressively expanding.

Also depends on how you see it as a village or as a character, I always think in terms of villages. The character doesn't mean as much.
