Well, guess i'll have to quit

Postby Jeff » Fri May 27, 2011 10:21 am

My life as a farmer, forager and cheese producer here ends, by the hands of an unknown stranger encountered while foraging for curiosities. I even tried to bribe him with 3 pearls to have my life spared, with no avail. And i don't have enough time anymore to redo another good char. That means, i'll have to stop here.
Well, i've had already thought to quit, since i didn't have much to do beside the daily chores (feed the cows, harvest, get milk, put in cub, repeat) but now, well, it is quite a forced choice. It wasn't even funny anymore, after all. When we had updates i could play and wait in trepidation for the next item, innovation, thing that could be implemented. But now They're working on Salem and time and seasons shall pass before They can continue Their divine work on this game.

Final considerations:
- I'm a bit angry indeed, since i was ready to pay for my life and my aggressor didn't even spoke a single word.
- As far as i've seen, people weren't so bloodthirsty in the second and third world. I could talk with a stranger without the fear of being murdered, at least.
- Being peaceful in this game is a pain on the ass, since you can simply steal and kill without consequences if you're organized to do so. Being a criminal is far too advantageous.
- Farming isn't fun at all. Quite boring, i could say. Repetitive, to be more precise.
- The items you're wearing should be damaged when you get damage.Merchant robes and such, i mean. You can't slash me apart and get a clean, usable item from my corpse. You should have destroyed my robe to be able to hit my body, after all.

My final words have been spoken. Have fun.

I am pretty sure the devs give more about Jeffs opinion than about the newbies commenting here who didn't know him at all.

Not that I really know you, still sad to see you go. From your forum comments I know you are yet another of the good ones leaving the game :/

I guess one doesnt have to be some W1 player to know that Jeff was an old seasoned player that was cool enough to deserve a nice goodbye thread without trolling and noob rambling.

I share you opinion on lack of updates Jeff, hope you're back when Haven gets more attention from J&L

I may resume playing in the next world, you know. i like the game after all, it is just that it gets boring after some time without updates. Updates gave new things to do, new things to test out, new things to discover. When you've done all of those, what else to do?
Sure, i wasn't able to get silver and gold in this world, but neither i had many chances to do so (as i said, i was a farmer and explorer). In my area of specialize i've done almost all i could do. I've found all the forageables and even some shocked frogs (by the way, the "Kiss" sound of the charming prince is awesome). I've harvested all the forageables and cooked almost all the foods. I breeded cows and got milk for delicious cheeses. I was even able to get a merchant's robe by trading 25 edelweibs. Well, i haven't found a rabid jackalope and i'm not still sure if weird beetroots really exist, though.
That is basically the end game for me. What else to do, beside raising the quality of the products?
I logged on just to harvest some beetroots, feed the cows and produce some cheese, other than getting some forageables to improve my skills (actually, i got even too many lp; i needed to specialize in the other worlds, but since raising crops got slower and you got an higher lp gain with the new system, i was basically obliged to raise other skills as well). I would have quitted anyway, this death just made the thing happen faster.
Said so, i'll probably lurk the forums every now and then, i'll just stop playing the game.

Well dude, even if i didn't know you at all ingame or all that well in the forums, you've been around for plenty a day and I don't recall a single shit post from you... and you won the "Best Avatar" award, deservedly so. Hope to see you back when (if) the gears start turning again on the development side.

P.S. I feel your pain
