This world lacks something

Postby Mopstar » Thu Jun 02, 2011 12:40 am

For those who dont like to read very short summary at the bottom of the post.

Am I the only one who thinks this?
I have played every world, My join date on this account says otherwise but after taking a little break in w1 I could not remember my details.I find it much harder to log in and play compared to other worlds.

In world 2 once i found one of the goons clay site I spent almost 4 weeks grinding tea pots on it before moving onto the claim and grinding the much higher spot. After some one had saw me I never had so much fun. A few days of constantly running and never logging off.Leaving runestones trailing behind me as I ran my power went off for two days after a storm knocked down the power lines and when i logged back in there was a runestone next to my hf saying it was a fun game of hide and seek but he had won.But he had not killed or even injured me.

W3 I was in a village that I did not like too much, the players were lazy and would never help with anything logged in one day to find most of them dead so I did as any player would and followed the scents.Found him in a small camp by a river fishing and just started talking to him as if nothing happened and found out he was a decent player and was just avenging one of his friends. My camp was gone so i asked could I join him. After a few weeks and gethering a few more player I founded my first village.Small may it of been We all fought and when the fight came back to us, none of us ran or logged off we defended that small hell hole like it was a paradise.

W4 short as it was most eventful world for me, Broholm was founded about 6-7 days in we had come in contact with many around us,the mountain we were next to was rich in mines and because of this 4 villages were set up at each side of the mountain. We were all on good terms at the start. There was our village,a polish village,an american village and a korean village. To my own surprise when the the strike was placed on us we held it off quite well, not only this but odditown lent us help that we despretely needed. My polish opponents told me that they were going to raid us again with their allies help. They inivited me to a party with their allies lawspeaker who turned out to be one of my friends from world 3 Miu.Instantly the polish group relieazed they would not be receiving help from this powerful ally anymore and terms were agreed by both parties to not attack the other. One of our members were killed by the american group which lead to a standoff outside their village with the main fighter of the polish group coming down and attacking my friend. Much to his mistake my friend walked away and I rushed and attacked through his defense bar. We now turned to our stats, we were much weaker than these two villages apart from our numbers. We each got good quality saws and started to bucket grind like crazy for days on end (about 2 weeks before the bucket nerf).Whenever the same polish fighter saw me he would run away and i loved it.Our korean neighbours supplied us with food seeing as we were going crazy with our food stocks while grinding and making weapons and armor. We lost alot of members around the mountain and even though we were all geared sparring showed that alot of our members were not up for a fight. We took the decision to move to make Brome where we would be far more organised.Myself and Mervin laid down the planning for Brome so we took the lawspeaker and chieftain status. We lived there for about 8 days and than the world ended

World ending poem-- http://i.imgur.com/ES0FH.jpg nice touch as well loftjorb

W5 started well we found alot of nice nodes and had good neighbors apart from one black sheep.Im sure alot of ye have seen that thread. We got raided I died respwand and thats pretty much it for this world.

Its a young world but even so people in general of this world seem less motivated to do anything.I hate to complain and point a finger at curiosities but I do think that is a big factor ie not being rewarded for what you do.But it does help in stopping botters which im all for and who doesnt like logging in and seeing a heap of lp waiting for use.

And that is my story, alot of parts being left out such as being chieftain of brodgar public iron mine, finding jorb out in the middle of no where in a small walled palisade, making new villages and becoming friends with hivemind, running into ken tower and becoming friends with him and many others.

I guess its more of a story thread now so ill just post my initial question.

This world Lacks something about it but I cannot put my finger on it. your opinions about whats missing or has it just lost its charm?

And im not the best at story telling either so no need to point it out

I'm definatly having alot more fun this world then last world. Last world the most exciting part was a raid on the village impish and that was that exciting honestly. But ive had alot more pvp experiences this world and im loving it =).

The world is probably too large, that's all. Curios > work-based LP.

Way more fun than world 4, but I will say this, in any sandbox game the fun is what YOU make of it.

every fight ive been in this world has been downright pathetic on my opponent(s) part, even fighting against similarly stat'd/geared people. w4 was way more fun for me anyways, as our main base was about 15 minutes up river from ad. i think my 2nd? death of the world was when me and a friend of mine were vported in to help protect a group from "ad", which turned out to be onionfighter, potjeh, and stickman. we managed to kill onionfigher in a 2v3, but after we finished him off it appeared that potjeh and stickman used ants to boost their bars in an even match. that mountain and that fight was one my fondest memories of w4.
