Pixel Artwork (Updated)

Postby _Khorne_ » Sun Jun 12, 2011 12:05 pm

Hi, I was hoping that some of the more renown pixel artists on this forum (SacreDoom, Daji, jrdimpfl) could help me out. I wanted to follow the trend and start working on pixel mods myself. For example I wanted to change the bow and quiver to something a bit more Zelda like, Such as this. Image
If anyone of you could tell me the program you use it would help me out tremendously.

Those cost a pretty sum of money, I suggest GraphicsGale, Deluxe Paint, or Paint.NET.

GraphicsGale is the shit. Check out those Palettes for sure.

GIMP is a pretty much free version of Photoshop with a very bad interface.

If you have to choose between Photoshop and Paintshop Pro, PSP is a bit more pixel-friendly if you're animating.

Not much, but so far here is what I've done. Elongated the shaft :3 sharpened the head :3 and added a feather at the end. Red, like the arrows in the quiver.
Btw, unfortunately I can't scale this down because i have no idea how to. So just hold control and use your mouse wheel to zoom out. It will show you what it looks like in game. What do you guys think?

For the quiver and bow I don't think you can really pull off the level of detail that those things require.
