I know there are raiders, but. . .

Postby Vek17 » Wed Jun 15, 2011 10:21 pm

So today I was talking to a friend of mine and we decided to meet up. The only problem was that we were 7 super grids apart and the journey would take ages. I started out and everything went fine the first 45 minutes of navigation, but when I was simply 5 minutes away from my destination I pass through a land claim (by boat) and get surrounded by the owners who proceed to destroy my boat. Luckily I got out in time but I had to fast travel back to my hearthfire. I don't know if they though I was a raider, or they simply wanted to kill me for shits and giggles, but it made my entire trip a massive waste of time. I'm not trying to bitch about it, I'm just wondering if there is a legitimate reason for doing things like this?

Shits and giggles is a fairly legitimate reason

If you aren't very developed I would suggest making a new character and spawning on his hearth fire. If you are, wait until he has a village idol, or get the help of a nearby village to port you close to him.

And yes, people are ass holes in this game.

I wasn't crying, I actually did enjoy the experience (in a weird way) I was just curious. And I'd rather take the journey then spawn because to me its more interesting that way.

The only way to be 7 SGs apart is to be on opposite corners of the map. I'm just saying it's possible, but not likely.

5^2+5^2=X^2
25+25=X^2
sqrt50=X
X=7.07
