What is a 'Hearth Vault'

Postby jakeread » Mon Jul 25, 2011 9:00 am

I've heard about them and know you shouldn't build them but what are they. I would rather not accidentally make one and get exploded by an admin.

Thanks.

Hearth vaults are broken game mechanisms used by scumbag fuckholes to circumvent the justice sytsem implemented by the developers to avoid having Haven & Hearth morph into a griefer-fest.

Unfortunately, the developers aren't nuking them anymore so feel free to join the assclowns and ruin the game to your heart's content.

A hearthvault is a small brickwalled area with a house in it meant to protect a criminal's hearthfire.

An illegal hearthvault is a hearthvault that, because of placement, is impossible to attack with a ram.

Only illegal hearthvaults have the potential to be nuked by the devs.

edit: Vigilance for example has a hearthvault that is legal. The devs will not destroy it because a person could potentially ram all that brick if they wanted.

I see signs, and a house and some walls. What exactly am I looking for?

Ask yourself - how would you ram into that fortress?

And the signs are to stop people using bugs to jump in, I believe.

Nice vault btw. Nice hat too ;).

EDIT: here's another example, an old vault that used to belong to the Death Eaters/RUA/whatever.

What would an illegal HV look like? What could possibly prevent a ram from smashing through brick after brick except when the rammers give up?
