Tons of skeletons

So i been traveling up this river(after having to rebuild me a boat, since i hit wrong option at login) and i have seen like my 12th skeleton now(not all in one place, strewn out along the river route). Kinda unnerving to be honest. last time i remembered, you couldn't die if you stay logged(quit the game) so is this an area of possible recent raidage or could these be natural deaths?

Not so, anymore. You can now be tracked down and summoned for certain crimes, meaning your character can be brought to a certain point on the map, even when you are offline. You CAN be killed offline, but only if you committed any crimes.

I passed through a swamp yesterday that was literally "littered" with skeletons. It looks like either they were deliberately put there or sa ton of people used that swamp to suicide. Bad omens man, bad omens.....

Near my village, there's a beach littered with corpses and hearthfires. There's at least 10 dead bodies if not more. I was thinking of taking a screenshot, because that beach was like a graveyard.

what i mean is can u die, IE from starvation, if you never log back in. or are these deaths most likely from the hand opf another player.

No, you can't die from starvation or anything else while logged out without being summon killed for crimes. You're probably seeing dead alts and newbies. It's a popular strategy to use alts to snag Auroch hair for newbies. Boars, Bears, Deer, Auroch, Mouflon, and Ants are also potentially lethal now so they'll happily kill unwitting newbies. Could have been raiders but no clue how likely it is.

yea, i been ko's by boars twice, really spookey, now that they have a chance to actually F'nn kill you now. just when u think H&H is easin up a lil, BAM another way to die

the reason why you can't die of starvation is because as soon as you get deagro'ed you log off, so unless the guy summons you and goes afk( for that sole reason) you can't die of starvation.

if you summon someone and don't do anything to them certain amount of time they go back to offline I think.
atleast it's happened to me a few times.
