Character scanning tool. (closed)

Just looking for some points of view on something I'm working on. (Currently intended as personal(to me)* tool only.)
- personal(to me): got some reservations about potential server/forum load by this (for one). (if released ...)

So what is it!
In a nutshell. Some tool that scan's and collects a Users Character's* stats*. (to be used for ... well, not sure yet. A graph showing a characters progress over time comes to mind for one.)
- stats: the data that can be found in your HnH User-Account pages. (Data is actual pulled from those pages ... Login required of course, in case your wondering.)
- Characters: all, including Dead* one's.
-- Dead: As these are not going to change, there only scanned one time.
(E1: that's dead ancestor's ... )

Think that generally covers it for the moment.

Something similar* could of course be done by the HnH server itself. But that's up to Dev's ...
- similar: collection time linked character changes.

---

Mmm, figure clients could also do something in relation to this, like dropping character stats to file on character login.

I play a game called wurm online, very similar game, similar playerbase size (slightly larger there)

a player made a skill compare program http://wurm.riceri.se/top.php which is quite popular

you can use it to track your own skills progress and to compare with others, theres also top 20 leaderboards for each skill

using it is fairly simple, in wurm client you open console and type 'skill dump' or something and it will produce a document containing your skills which you can upload to the compare site

That's a shitload of skills they got there.
Think the online bit for character stats is not a favorite among general HnH players ... Although a more personal compare only would need some data(selectable) export+import feature.

I fail to see the point of this or how this benefits anyone but yourself.

... Your not very clear, well at least not to me. So what point might "this" be ...
- Me asking for other point of views on the subject.
- The (general) tool/util/app/whatever idea.
- ?

O well. Guess you where just reacting to "(Currently intended as personal(to me)* tool only.)" and nothing else.
