Dragon Nest

I've just found out that Nexon has a new game that's currently in extended Open Beta.

http://dragonnest.nexon.net/

If you've played Vindictus then you will be familiar with the story-driven quests and the real-time dungeon combat. Currently there are four classes you can play as, as well as two class specializations to choose from at level 15.

In the Open Beta the character level is capped at 24 and there is currently an Open Beta event that rewards you for each time you level up as well as every hour you are logged in per day.

Classes are gender locked so this can be a bit of a problem if you HAVE to play as a certain gender.

Current classes and their genders:

Warrior: Male
Cleric: Male
Archer: Female
Sorceress: Female

If you're interested in fast, fluid, real-time combat and enjoy a great storyline (with movie cut scenes!) then I suggest you check this game out.

Edit: If you're on the Elena - West server, look me up in-game! My character name is Snotnose and I'm a level 12 Cleric soon-to-be Priest. :D

Well, I guess the graphics don't appeal to everyone, but I don't think it's that bad. The combat is very twitchy, almost what you'd expect from a first person shooter. You don't get to use the environment as weapons like you did in Vindictus but it makes up for it in other ways.

Graphics do not make or break a game but to each their own. Vindictus was incredibly Fluid and if this is reminiscent of that style of play then I'll probably be giving it a try.

I would probably say even more-fluid than Vindictus. There is definitely more emphasis on combo attacks. Getting higher combo attacks awards you more points during a dungeon which ultimately ranks you upon completion of the dungeon. The higher your rank the better your reward for completion.

imo, dragon nest is DFO and Vindictus combined from what i see and read. But well i havent played it so i cant really say much about it. I do feel that i will be bored of it in a couple of days. probably a good game for people who like DFO or Vindictus

I think you're right. It feels more like DFO than Vindictus just because of the hotkey skills versus the combo attacks that Vindictus used.

Ah well, I'm Elena West now as HunterSilver the fighter =)
