Wind Wiki

Postby Gaiadin » Mon Sep 21, 2009 10:37 pm

I've taken the liberty of writing a wiki article for the new wind object in the latest update using the observations that my Villagers and I have made along with some of the observations I've seen in posts on the forum. Feel free to help flesh it out if you have information that we've missed. http://havenandhearth.wikia.com/wiki/Wind

Thanks.

Edit: Realize I should probably have posted this thread in the How Do I forum. If a dev has a moment and wants to relocate it that would be cool. If not, I don't think it's too big a deal.

"It is possible that wind inside a chime cannot exceed the quality of the chime. (i.e. The wind may destroy the chime as it reaches a quality equal to the chime) "

Wrong, it can, but you better be keen on repairing it or all hell will break loose, lol

I can confirm some things

A chime built with ql10 wood, ql7 yarn, and 1 carpentry will still level wind up.
A chime built with ql10 wood, ql8 yarn, and 1 carpentry leveled up wind slightly faster than one placed int he one made with ql7 yarn.
I have seen wind while standing still. I have seen wind while traveling with the wind. However, wind appears to not spawn unless someone is near the side of the heath the wind spawns at.
As the wind gained ql, the chime needed repaired for each ql gained.

Yeah. I had a wind to about 22-23 until it just up and died within one more QL improvement. Assuming no stat and skill bonuses, all materials used in production were QL 10, resulting in a QL 10 windchime.

This base level 10 chime seemed to level winds roughly every hour.

It seems like as it increases, the damage taken increases more. Eventually it will reach a point where the windchime is going to die regardless. I'm fairly sure it hit that point but I cannot completely confirm.

Other things that need to be tested:
-Whether multiple winds in same chime result in faster decay.
-Whether multiple winds will improve in QL at same time no matter when placed inside (sort of like oven ticks and such)
