Level 3 deer?

Postby TearikII » Sun Sep 04, 2011 9:39 am

I thought all the deer were a bit higher level now and there was only one level?

However I just found a level three deer. q 95 stone axe and 100 surv. Got q33 skin, intestines and meat.
I'd gotten rather used to my q97 intestines and deer meat.

Do you have a screenshot of that? I thought low level deers do not spawn ever since they took out dynamic levels based on civilization levels.

I've seen a few low level deer, very few though. I really don't understand what determines the level of them anymore, but so far this world ive only seen 2 lower level packs of deer (one was level 3 and the other was level 7). In world 4 i saw a lot of different level deer as well.

I recently noted this also. On RoB's deer discussion page I left some information about trying to find their actual butcher quality, since 10*level is clearly not it. I've noted level 6 and 2 butcher quality.

No animals vary in level other than
deer... deer do in fact vary in level
i was told this a while ago.. thought
it was common knowledge =o

I thought that the level got lower when the animals spawn near a village idol. outside the claim I mean. you used to be able to know if you were near a village that way. if the animals were lower level than normal.

To be honest i really loved the old w2 where
for all noobies it was; the farther from RoB
you go the higher level the animals, and there
was water cutting the RoB from the rest of
the world, which meant stuff like... I used to
kill all the low level animals near our camp
and hear these tales of the more dangerous
creatures past the river that i could help my
mates kill later when i'm stronger... just that
thing of there being no boats... would be cool
if there was like, ocean that you can only cross
with large ships that have certain amounts of
people with certain skills, and they lead to
islands or continents with beasts like that
dragon we've seen a few times on the forum
