...My alts always seem to be the polar opposites of my main.

Whenever my main account is down and out? Sudden burst of pure luck on an alt. Whenever my main is doing fine in life and things are going great? Immediate karma-rape.


World 4:
Decide to spend a few moments on an alt account to get a break from the business of my main. Find a free boat with no signs of life anywhere around, stock full of traveling supplies. Go down a river for a while, picking random paths and not even paying attention, and eventually find a settlement marked as being free to anyone who needs a home. It's got palisades, crops, animals, and a few houses. Keys still in the basket by the door. Suddenly, I go from foraging taproots for food (I don't bother training my alts at all) to sleeping in a full bed.

...Meanwhile on my main I'm getting brutally murdered by a bunch of raiders from Emberwood because the guy I lived with decided to be a total numbnuts and tell me Ravian was coming over to pick up some theft scents I had found leading to the village, when in fact he had told Ravian "up his" and wondered why I wouldn't let him live within my section of our settlement.


World 5:
Get back into the game after "quitting" for a few months, scouring landscape on my main for abandoned settlement. Find a place with an unclaimed stone mansion, several timber houses and cabins, and massive crops, not too far from a Russian village that had all their valuables (including a mine) sitting out with no claim. Immediate paradise on that end.

Then, I decide to go over to my alt account (who is already a starving, unskilled, clothesless hermit by this point) and also scour the landscape for settlement, sort of expecting to die before I find anything. Suddenly, I see a village boundary in the middle of the forest. There's no pavement or anything else around to indicate life, so I check it out.
