HFs can be destroyed with 25+ strength and Vandalism. They used scents from your crime to summon you and kill you, which unlit your hearthfire. I believe if you inherit and spawn randomly you land back to where your old hearthfire was as long as it as accessible.

they got summoned and someone broke their
hearth then killed them, they just didn't know
that hearthfires could be broken, probably never
tried, most likely theft scents and killed in a
cellar somewhere

It's just that they're so new it's a little hard to
