Old player comming back to bussines... lag question

Hi there!
I played this great game a few months ago, and I left it due to lack of free time. Yesterday I came back to play with my GF, making together a little village, but since we started we have noticed a great ammount of lag spikes, each 30-60 secs. I wonder if this is happening to everyppl or just me. Also, in case we are all suffering from this lag, I wonder if this is a common problem now, or its going to be fixed soon.

Its weird becouse I have no lag problems with any other game, my internet connection is good. And im sure its internet lags, its not computer video hardware problem.
Btw im not complaining or QQ'ing about lag, just wanna know the current status. I think this game roX!!!

Everyone is getting the lag. It's been like this ever since the server crashed and we almost lost the data for world 5. I think the server backs up data every couple mins and it causes a lag spike. The lag has been made worst today too since we've had a crazy amount of people join due to a video on youtube.

The awful lag spikes have just appeared today. However, there has always been some mild lag ever since that planned server crash happened a few months ago. I do not exactly know why but that's the way it is.

Nobody will be able to tell you when it gets better again. It may be gone tomorrow or it may last for quite a while until a developer takes notice of it and is actually able to do something against it. They're quite busy currently and therefore don't check on the game often.

i cant believe the lag spike every couple of minutes is server backup, i mean wtf is the point of that, make it every couple of hours not minutes jeegus christ

whoever runs tis game needs to purchase more brain cells

but that's not the only lag, the game is just in a constant state of lag lately, just simply walking along makes ur char all jittery, teleporting all over place and freezing every 2 seconds

i heard it's because of some popular youtube vid which caused a few more people to play than usual, if this is the case then game owners are really putting a cap on this game to stop it from ever becoming popular, if more ppl are playing, upgrade servers or wutever, reduce lag, dont make it unplayable for everyone and force ppl away till the players online is low enough to run properly again (not that it ever was running properly)

I doubt the increase of players has anything to do with this lag. Also if you want a new server so bad, there is a donate button at the bottom of the screen. This is a free game that's managed by two devs in their spare time, you really aren't entitled to anything from them. Consider yourself lucky that the lag isn't as bad as what it use to be back in the last days of W2 where the mini-maps wouldn't even load if the amount of players online went to 300+. Just remember that it could be worse.

I would much rather have to pay for this game in a proper way, one time or subscription and then have a proper functioning game

They're actually being paid to make Salem, not paying to make it. HnH is, as far as any of us know, still covered by donations of money and equipment.
