Stolen chatname with Ender's client.

Hi just want to say that i got my name stolen in the globalchat 2011-09-19..My alt is Nordulv so all bad words that was said in this time was not from me..Can someone tell me if there is a mod for this act how does it work when someone take control over your name inte globalchat?

Names are not linked to characters or accounts so every account can have someone with the same name. Global chat isn't reliable and is, in fact, entirely unmoderated. Never trust what you hear there. If you want some semblance of security then use the forums or the irc, which are moderated.

The name is bound to your account. Just try to make another character with the same name after your beloved character dies. Nobody said anything anywhere about names being truly unique in the game world, though. It's an easy misconception that nobody finds out about unless they happen across the information.

Different accounts can use the same name. We can all be named Jorb. Once a name has been used on an account, you cannot use the same name on that account again is what you're referring to.

I was just being a bit more technical in the explanation, otherwise that's the plain English version of it. Now that I think of it, the phrase "globally unique" probably would have been better than "being truly unique in the game world".

I'd love to see everyone walking around named Jorb. That would be... hilarious. At least for a little while. We could even make a contest out of it. Who is the real Jorb?

For the record, global chat isn't exclusively an Ender's feature. It is available in the default client, it's just not truly advertised
