Engine

Hey, I just started playing this game and I like it. This may be off topic but what engine does this game run on? Or what program was used to make it?

C++ if I remember correctly. The client is written in Java.

It's made using java you can find loftar client source code at https://github.com/dolda2000/haven-client
He made it himself from scratch it appears with the idea of everything being rendered in a isometric manner.
jogl is used as an access point to OpenGL for the rendering process.

I assume the server is also made from scratch and iirc it's in C although i don't have my old irc logs to confirm that anymore

actually here is a quote from the post viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6166&p=70919&hilit=+server+language+C+C+#p70919 by loftar:
Well, to begin with, the server is, indeed, written from scratch in C. (Not C++! Die C++, Die!

Sounds like someone wants to make their own game based on H&H. You wouldn't be the first.
