Silk production Stone Mansion Layout

Postby ApocalypsePlease » Fri Sep 23, 2011 3:35 am

I've just been tinkering around trying to create a silk production layout in a stone mansion that gives optimal production. I've made a layout which (on average) gets 12 cloth per cycle at full nature. I was wondering if there is a higher yield layout someone has come up with, if so I'd appreciate a picture. Thanks!

I remember there being a thread or two on this. Let me see if I can't dig it up. They had some seriously impressive layouts.

I would also be interested in viewing any layouts. I have yet to try doing anything with silk so any information you guys could give out would be greatly appreciated. ^_^ Thnx

If you insist. Here, I'll link my current layout

Main floor:

Upstairs:

Totalling up to 60 tables, and 87 cupboards (7 extra, could be replaced with a cauldron, spinning wheel and loom).

I'm running into a little bit of an issue with placing the herb tables off-grid, I think it might be relevant to how it grids within each tile, not sure. More experimenting to be done tomorrow.

Enjoy!

Now for a really lame question. What are the different colours meant to represent not that they don't look pretty or anything but still I have no clue what it is that I'm actually looking at here. ^___^

If you want efficiency I'd recommend a less dense layout inside more mansions. Efficiency is more about optimal use of time rather than optimal use of in game space since expansion is only difficult if you develop in such a way as to constrain your own self.

White = empty tile
Grey = Staircase
Yellow = Cellar
Maroon = Cupboard
Green = Herbalist Table

You make a good point, I'm thinking if the other layouts are inconvenient I might stick with this, and just make a few more mansions if we suddenly need more silk (which is most likely not going to happen). I was also slightly interested in seeing if there was a layout which yielded 14+ cloth per cycle, and also seeing how others did theirs.

I get about 4 cloths per cycle with breeding upstairs and feeding downstairs (i always use basements for cheese). another mansion would probably yield another 8 but 4 tends to be sufficient for me. I line the walls with cupboards and put the cellar adjacent east to the door. Nothing in the middle at all. Too much clutter. the south wall upstairs i line with tables for turning with the cupboards use for breeding and egg overstock.

Ideally processing occurs outside.
