Something i can't understand about Scents

Postby Flame » Sat Sep 24, 2011 12:45 am

Hi to all, mostly do devs. Today i've been summoned killed and i was wondering how could that be, i never raid or leave scents around other claims. Then i see that my double wooden wall has been palibashed in less than 1 h from unknown killers and they used the scents that was inside my plot. The scents was a vandalize scents 'cuz i've made an alt that i can't move his hf, and his hg have spawned in a wrong place, so i've removed it.

Let's not talk about a chara that can bash two line of walls with hands in 30 minuts, but let's talk about the scents.

Is an alt. On my account. If you let us have alts, you leave us have different charas to organize ourself so why should we leave scents of horrible acts on our alts in the same account?

Could you let us move, create, delete the stuff of our alts freely? XD

Cause the mechanics of the game don't allow for a distinction in committing crimes.

2 ways to remove a hearth fire without leaving scents.
1. the toon that owns the claim can remove any on his claim without leaving scents
2. the person the owns the HF can remove it without leaving scents. (not sure if it is on a hostile claim if same holds true)

I am pretty sure this is really really incorrect. In my experience destroying any hf leaves vandalism scents.

I needed more than few months to grow that chara and i'm dead for nothing, not a raid not a figth not a vengeance, not a ram. My own scents killed me while i was offline.

I still cant see the meaning of the permadeth.

I'm happy to move and rebuild, but can't be happy to rebuild also a chara. It need a lot of time wasted on growing your chara so you can be usefull in a village.
Is this so usefull in this game?

Destroying your own hearth doens't leave scsents.. destroying a hearthfire on your claim ( I don't believe it works on a claim you have rights too ) also does not leave scents.
You may have foiled the plans of BAD-EVIL this time, but there is no rest for the wicked.

Flame your comics are loved by everyone, but your attitude towards the game sometimes surprises me. This seems like it is entirely your fault. I bet you could even get people to donate you the frigging bricks and metal for a brickwall just because they love your comics so much.

Also your request doesn't seem very conclusive and abusable to me. You should think a little outside of your own box when you are making such requests (also use the Critique&Ideas next time please) and take into account the greater implications/the possibility of someone wanting to abuse mechanics. As people have stated before you can freely destroy hfs on your own claim so you could have at least done that and avoided leaving scents.

Consider it a lesson. One you really seemed to need because living without a brickwall is suicide at this stage of the game.

For the meaning of permadeath please read Jorbs article on consequences and PvP again. If there wasn't any permadeath this would be much muuuch more of a griefer fest than it already is.

I will leave this in the Inn for now since I don't see any real idea here. HFs already work in the way you are asking for kinda.
