Noob w/ a question!

Postby nrich61 » Thu Oct 13, 2011 9:50 pm

Just started playing yesterday, finding the game interesting (died once already, lol).

I have been doing alot of traveling looking for a decent place to setup camp, I keep running into the random barriers though, not claims or anything, on water and on land that i cant pass and occasionally i can walk WAY around them. but sometimes they seem to go forever. Are these random glitches? ive tried relogging when i run into them and waiting it out in case its a server burp or something but no matter what i do i cant pass the invisible points, i know they arent the edge of the map because i can go around some of them with a long walk, or there is even a claim or two some distance past the line on the mini map. Again these arent claim lines, cause most of the time there arent any claims near (i have it so it shows them).

First off, this post should be in the How Do I? section.

You've hit a nuked zone, which is essentially a 1000x1000 tile grid which had it's file corrupted when there were some server issues, a couple months back. These files are unretrievable, and Jorbtar figured it'd be better to just make them impassable barriers, than a world reset (only 1-2% of the whole map is nuked).
