Get a better computer? Honestly I think that's the only thing you can do.

Yeah, without knowing more, there's not really much we can tell you. Server response times certainly don't help. I can load the original client fine, but when it comes to playing, I can't do jack because all I have are "?" for 20 or 30 minutes. I go to Ender's, and I can't even play (even though most of the graphics are cached) because the client is waiting on item information.

Join the rest of us that have basically quit playing because Loftar doesn't have enough time in the week to pump out Salem and fix issues with HnH.

I give this advice out over and over and it never gets stickied anywhere. if you are running windows 7 or Vista, type ctrl alt del and stop the process dwm.exe, it will pop back up immediately but when you stop it the second time it's gone. it causes mine to do exactly what you are talking about but it's fine afterwords.

There is probably a alternitive option that might work to ...
DWM (dwm.exe) wrote:One of the new features in Windows Vista/7 is the Desktop Window Manager (DWM). It responsible for the graphical effects such as live window previews and a glass-like frame around windows (Aero Glass), without draining your CPU. A DWM-capable graphics card is required to enable the 3D effects, as well as Aero Glass. (In older Windows Vista Beta versions, the DWM effects are controlled by the User Experience Session Management Service, via "uxss.exe".) You can increase your computer's performance if you switch to Classic Mode (turn off Aero Glass and Animations), or reduce your screen resolution.
