Useless Piece of Information: How fast Hearthlings Run

Postby Projeear » Mon Oct 31, 2011 12:25 am

So, I measured out 2000m^2.

That's 2km.

I then timed how fast it took for my Hearthling to run the distance... 36 seconds.

That's 18 seconds per km, approximately.

=======

We want to fit it so that 18km/second becomes 18sec/km.

1 / 18 = 0.055
(1 mile takes 18 seconds)
So how far do we run of that one mile, in 18 seconds? 0.055 km/sec

=======

0.055 * 60 = 3.3km/minute
0.055 * (60*60) = 198 km/hour

That's right folks, Hearthlings run at 198 km/hour. I think.

Correct me if I'm wrong, It's quite late...

I'm pretty sure you are wrong. Maybe you ran 200 meters in that time. Also travel speed is distance/time, not distance^2/time.

So, you ran 2000 tiles in 36 seconds? You're saying it takes 1.8 seconds to run 100 tiles (1 red square on Ender's minimap). I'm not going to investigate further as this doesn't seem right.
