Do you enjoy the grindfest?

*edit*

Never mind, the game isn't a grindfest. Changed my mind.

least grindy game I've ever played, what you do in this game is entirely up to you. If you feel the need to grind it's because that's what you've chosen to do, also, Inb4 you get flamed half to death and thread lock.

Either you haven't played a lot of games or you have super amazing curios at your disposal, because it takes me 4 days to get 100k LP.

i was getting 100k a day with minimal effort in w5, so you're probably doing it wrong.

38 years old, been gaming since 1981. beta or alpha tested pretty much every MMog since Meridian 69 and Ultima Online in 97. After getting the first few skills there are tons of things you can do that don't involve gaining Lp and even then, not sure what you are claiming the "grind" is. This isn't World of Warcraft.

I actually really hope they never cap skills. Even more so, if they capped it at 50 or 100 it would be fucking retarded since you'd be there in like a week. I think it balances itself out fairly nicely to where it gets harder and harder to gain stats as u get further into character development. Also, stats aren't as important as u make them seem, there is a lot of skill involved in the combat system, it's not just stat vs stat (read the "You died over 20 bricks" thread by valten21 from world 5. I accidently volounteered him for a 30 ua v 80 ua fight with bruthol. Valten won with less then half bruthols UA).

Also, 20 million for half decent combat stats? lol, never went above 9 million in world 5 and i did fine in most situations.

Okay, perhaps I worded that wrong. By Grind I mean it takes a hell of a lot of time.

It doesn't take very long to figure out the combat system. Bruthol must have had no real understanding of combat, that or I am apparently a fighting god because after analyzing everything for about an hour it seems simple to me how to fight efficiently and adapt.

Ninijutsu wrote:Haven and Hearth is a great game, but let's be honest here, you have to play hardcore to get anywhere in it.

It takes a few months of playing several hours a day to get good enough stats to raid a competent village, only to die and have to do it over again.

I think the game would be significantly better if there was a cap for skills, something like 100 (or maybe 50). The game would be less oriented on scripting bots and playing 24-7 to get the best stats and more oriented towards a game that rewards you more for playing and having skill. Right now it's all about not getting murdered or griefed until you have like 20 million LP to get HALF DECENT combat stats. The longer you play, the better you are than everyone else. That's just not how a proper game should work IMO.

I'm not complaining, I will still play the game, but do you not honestly think a cap would be better than endless grinding?

What are your opinions on the grind-oriented manner of Haven and Hearth?

Removing the grind was a blessing. Also your pointing out the reasons why the LP system is better than W3+4. Your just looking at it all wrong :).
@ your 4 days to get 100k LP comment
.... I hope your talking about in w5 now w6... if so, no comment... no comment at all....
I knew a guy who had gotten 300k+ LP a day in w5(based on your int obviously). All that stupid grinding just to get some decent LP, you get that in less than 24-48 hrs(most of them).

Then please, tell me what I'm doing wrong. I constantly put in ant queens, ant soldiers, thorny thistles, bark boats, cow cones, emerald dragonflies, and royal toadstools, with the occasional ant empress or peculiar flotsam.
