How the mighty have fallen

You've probably read at least one thread about exploring old ruins of houses, smaller settlements and even cities.

So let's have a thread about recently fallen settlements.
Story time.

[WallOfText]

I played a bit back in world 4, but forgot my account info and so made a new account for world 6.
I wandered about the area near my spawn, searching for forageables and curious, hoping to muster enough lp to learn Yeomanry and settle on my own plot of land. I came by a fairly large, palisaded settlement, their own decent farm, smelters and a crucible, an inn and a few log cabins, some odds and ends lying or standing outside on paved ground. I was hoping i could talk to the owner someday, so i often travelled by it.
Fast forward 3 days to today, i walk by and notice there no longer is a claim.

I see a large part of the palisade has rotted away, so i go inside, Only to find that the claim and everyone inside has just disappeared, a single skeleton lying on the ground and crops still growing is the only sign that there had been recent activity here.
I check the houses and am stunned to find that ALL items and utility things are still there, Cupboards upon cupboards of loot in the triple digit qualities, A small log cabin smithy with anvil, smithy hammer and key molds still there, a house full of cooking ingredients and an iron cauldron, The inn with a dining table with exquisite iron decorations still standing there, with cupboard upon cupboard of food. All of these houses had a basement, Several boulders were lying around on the ground and in the inn.

I didn't take anything but food that i was in dire need of at the moment, some string, a chicken egg and a hide, leaving the rest of the loot to raiders or other wandering noobs, because hey, gotta share the good stuff. I was so surprised i didn't really know what else to do. Plus, it would be way too hard to repair all the walls and set up a new claim, which i wouldn't have enough lp or combat skills to defend efficiently anyway, and since i didn't even have a backpack not much could be taken back to my non-finished cabin.

[/WallOfText]

After all of this, i proceeded to get on the forums and make a thread about recently fallen settlements while working away on my well.

So let's have a thread about recently fallen settlements, for their wonderful loot and shroud of death and mystery.

Great story. Here is my story.
Story of death and birth of a town
One day I was farming and there was three hearth fires that were completely random in my garden. So I told my friends Saphire and Guines. Then I went into Saphire and my cave. We saw a person wearing my chef hat grieving us. Saphire called over one of her friends to come and block the cave so no one else could get in. Then more people started to show up. We called Guines over so he could kill the people as they created their hearth fire. One person ran away from him and then ran into a boar and ran back. Guines then killed the boar and the person. Guines then let us keep the dead boar. We then started blocking people in and then less and less people showed. We named the place Creeper Town and started moving right away. A couple days later I got rage and practiced on one of my extra characters just incase the same thing ever happened again. That night I was murdered by a myserious person. Now Creeper Town is the home of 97 hearth fires and counting and 11 dead bodies and counting. Feel free to visit. That is how Creeper Town came to be.

Doing my normal boating along the rivers, and come across a town named advercity, (this was in my sigma days) so I dcide to take a look around see if I could find a way into the wall, I was in luck, the brick had not been finished and there was a gap (that must have been unoticed) in the palisade. After a quick look left and right I peek inside the gap, see a table, and think why not, eww that camembert is too cold, ooh that cheddar is to hot, ahh, that brodgar is just right..during my feast on the cheese the idol nearby has some numbers float around..thinking that someone had just gotten lp and it was coming up on the idol I ported out of there, grabbed Kao and we returned a bit more cautiously helping ourselves to the food, metals and curio's, after our invens and chests were full there was still plenty more to be had so we returned with a third in tow (ares) to grab what was left, My first time taking the lead in the raid I didnt want to make a bad impression so when we got back to divide the loot (4 full LC's and our merch +1 t-sack invens I simply took a bite to eat, grabbed the cylinder hat and left it to them...and thats the story of how a large and once pretty bitchin city got looted and although I checked it never came back to life :(

its also the story of how people liked to raid with me, and also the story of how I got my favourite hat.

Post stories, I like reading these kinds of ones ;)

Let us reflect upon the good he was able to do during his short time in the hearthlands.
Let us remind ourselves of his bravery and willingness to fight for the safety of his friends!
Let us hope he can surpass his previous achievements in his future lives.

Advercity was an Italian village, and all but one player quit a long time before the end of the world. I got beetroot from there, and made a load of straw dolls out of the contents of their cupboards - yes, looks like I waited too long to investigate....

RiverEnd was at the SE corner of that river system. When the auth went down Magisticus and I rammed it, and hitched up their one surviving bull to their wagon, and loaded it up with the contents of cupboards and the tree farm, then went back for the rest of the livestock. Magisticus also found a q154 beartooth talisman somewhere in the depths of their cave system.
