Joining a village/town/clan.

Postby Blaze » Sat Jun 06, 2009 6:41 am

There's only so much I can do by myself with what limited resources I have access to, so I'm thinking of joining one of the groups out there. I'm just wondering if anyone's out there recruiting and what requirements they might have.

Bottleneck is pretty much letting anyone who's not a total git settle in, and you'll quickly find it's rather nice.

No requirements, but playing B12G games is a plus, as you might actually be able to get the jokes. =p

There's quite a few smaller settlements springing up too. Leperbunnycommune, and clay shire could probably use more hands

I'd be willing to join, but will 30 marksman and 30 melee be enough to fight my way there? All I have is leather armor, a shield, and a soldier's sword. Plus, it'd by a pain to haul all my stuff alone...

Any chance you can send a few people to help me with it? I can give a full list of inventory if you need it, it's 9 chests worth of items. And I have no idea where the other two are, is there a map somewhere? If possible, I'd like a place with a mine, as I am industry specced, I don't need housing, I prefer to sleep under the stars. Just gimme a place to set up a claim and make a few chests.

As for B12 games, the only one I really play is DF, but I've also played Elona, Nethack, Adom, Crawl, Spelunky, Gearheads 1&2, Unreal World, Omega, Incursion, Trancendence, Mount & Blade, and Stranded II, which I saw where being played in the "Other Games" section.

I didn't know there were other people having played Stranded. :D

And you could come visit laketown and see if you want to stay there.

Stranded is an awesome game...

I would invite you to my place, but the requirement is that I know you in real life, which I kinda doubt. Later we hope to move out a bit more to a better location (when I first chose the spot I didn't know much about the game, so the only natural resource we have near is a forest.) and start a large town that anyone can join, within reason.

30 marksmanship should be enough to get to basically any settlement... in reality you can get anywhere with no skills at all just by hiding a lot.

But come to laketown, we can always use more people. i think were at 7 people at the moment.. could be 8.. never know.. We have pretty much everything, although you want to walk a ways to get to a forest if thats what you desire. [i'm a hunter of laketown and walk to forests quite often, its a long ways]

I would not suggest joining bottleneck. They are already big. Not saying everyone should join our town, but i think you should pick carefully. b12 is just the easy choice.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

I agree with sami, actually. Not to be anti-social, but we have a thriving community going. Instead of making it more thriving, why not move to one of the developing communities and help make it thrive as well? The more the merrier, in my opinion.
That said, if you do decide to come down to bottleneck, you are more than welcome!

I'm actually thinking of joining Clayshire, but I haven't seen LBC yet.
Aside from that, some rear-end-in-a-top-hat went and cut down the only apple tree (the only tree of any type) in Clayshire.
