World 6 > World 5 ?

Postby Fitzstar » Mon Jan 02, 2012 4:39 am

A pretty general question, but to be more specific:

I had an absolute blast in World 5. I play a hermit style, for certain, but there were a few friends that popped in and out of my rather large claim from time to time. I have two accounts to run an alt specifically dedicated to STR and mining, and had mined almost every metal in the game. I had all the crops, tamed animals, cheese, etc. Was a great time!

Then some Russian speaking guy started hanging our around my claim. I couldn't communicate with him at all so I really have no idea why he started shooting at me. Eventually I was able to escape to the mine and things were alright when I reemerged a few minutes later. But, when I came home from work later that night, there were dozens of hearth fires outside my claim and EVERYTHING was gone. Destroyed, taken, plowed over... my whole claim was literally in ruins. Needless to say, I quit, rather discouraged.

I've, so far, battle back the urge to try H&H in World 6. My fear, obviously, is that this same sort of thing will happen again. My claim was secure, at every point, it was only a glitch/exploit/bug that would have allowed them in like that... Is this likely, or possible, to happen again??

I've updated Enders client, I've even logged in, but for now Skyrim is a safer bet than H&H.

World 6 is pretty much the exact same thing as world 5 was. A brickwall would deter most people because no one really wants to try to siege a hermit camp with a brickwall because it's near impossible if you patrol ur walls though.

World 6 has new and interesting drama all around. World 5 same thing but it was plauged with the wall jumping era. Either way both are the same imo.

Wall jumping was mentioned... that still happens? I don't think even a brick wall would have helped in my case. All doors were still locked and the palisade was fully intact. They definitely jumped the wall, though I still don't know how that is done.

Would hate to invest that much time again only to lose it to a cheater. Resets and such are expected on an Alpha, or in a game situation like this, but to lose out solely to someone exploiting issues in the code sucks.

World 5 and World 6 are virtually the same thing, yeah. There are no major updates (besides the CR thing), and World 6 is just another filler world until Salem is done.

I haven't really seen any actual wall jumps this world.

If you have a palisade, then none would bother wall jumping it. They probably repaired your palisade and just bashed it. But yeah, no evidence or reports of wall jumping this world nor any reports in world 5 end game.

I have, you can still wall jump using either a town idol or a cr if either is put close enough to a wall.

Example: 55, -100 Polish Horde (I think), put a town idol right next to this island fort's wall and jumped in that way. I say Polish Horde because I tracked the vandy scents there to them.

True, but if they actually have a v claim it's not an issue at least.
