I remember my first random attack. I was just wandering around on my second day, and some dude wearing a bear just knocks me out and keeps running. Not a big deal looking back (didn't even kill me), but in your first week your only response is "is that guy wearing a bear?? the fuck kind of a game is this?!?"

Want to defend yourself from nab hunters, invest in a merch robe and ss. If they kill you they get twice the loot but the intimidation factor is enough for quite a few people. Also there's the fear of you possibly belonging to a bigger faction. If not, learn to fight or die a nab.
