Never burn bridges

Postby Lusewing » Sun Feb 05, 2012 1:44 am

Its nice when you get helped out when you start a new character, I'm a world three girl myself and after a long brake I'm glad to be back but also with my brother and his wife in toe. We got on well with a village we had set up far to close to (stupid me didn't scout first) but it worked in all our favors as we are all no lifers and were happy to bring in all the bears and curos we could find to trade for the goods we needed. Eventually though we moved away so we were not crowding the village and so we could start our own with just the three of us. Brick wall up, a little bit of tin and copper coming in, crops growing and lots of idol trades. Life is good.

However we did not cut our ties with the village that helped us, we still chatted though didn't trade much because of distance (only just put our signpost up outside) and that we could trade with other people for expensive but high Q stuff. Today however my brother brought in two bears early morning. We were good on food and bear leather, even bones and intestines so I told my brother to deliver the two bears as a gift to the village that helped - as thanks for keeping us safe and introducing us to strong players in our water system so we were not mistaken for raiders.

...and hour or so later our gift of 2 bears and the strengthened ties with the other village would prove to be priceless.

I was taming sheep for a redo on the video I made (thanks to everyone pointing out holes in my guide hehe) when a guy starts approaching with a sword and bandit mask. I knew to run...problem was I didn't have a boat, only a raft. With no other choices (I had no water on me) I dove to the raft and tried to talk to the guy and his now entering two mates - no response, one guy took to the water and I tried to keep clear of him but for some reason he could not get on my raft. The other guys brought boats and pinned me to one side. Not wanting to just stand there while my raft was broken beneath me I tried to leg it while calling my brother for help. The three guys where hot on my trail but I managed to jump in my brothers boat. Unfortunately they caught up with both of us as we tried to make it across to another water system and knocked us both out:

They rifled through our belongings as we were both down, nicked my brothers Rbow and for some reason his glasses but neither of us had anything of value - after all my brother was just coming back from delivering the bears so did not even have any forgings on him. Something must have distracted them though as both me and my brother where able to get up at about the same time and leg it to boats on either side of the river. I went one way and he went the other and while they chased after my brother he was also able to get away.

So why is this here instead of Congress? Well you know I mentioned that village we had given bears to...well we had also traded signs with them to help out with trades and while we didn't ask fro revenge or anything silly like that (everyone risks being robbed and death in this game it is part of the fun) a few of their friends decided they would like a hunting trip:

Im not going to tell you what happened next because I was not there and it is not my story to tell.
So the moral is: Never burn your bridges, a friend yesterday can be your greatest ally tomorrow.

Oh and happy hunting guys.

I think they mainly just wanted to steal anything we had...which was very little (though my brother still misses his bow) Not sure if they had the skill to murder us or if they just did not want to leave scents that strong.

If you're afraid to leave murder you're either a huge pussy or you don't have a brick wall. I'd track their scents and place a ram up against the bastard's palisade and then destroy everything that they love. :D

^^. Battery and theft are both enough to summon and kill.
