Happy funshine and rainbows.

Yay being backstabbed by the one person who I lived with for days. Then having my claim griefed constantly, until today a bear was pulled into my land to destroy everything because I was waiting for my palisade to be done with the 12 hour setting, and then to top if all off, the griefers got a person to murder me. Fun times. All for moving away from my supposed mentor who was more like a slave driver, because I found an unclaimed mine. Fun times!

From what I have learned is that people who say that they were slaves is a way of saying they were lazy fucks who are unable to accomplish and complete the most simplest of tasks without assistance or guidance.
You probably said fuck it to your benefactor and packed your shit (as well as some his most likely) and moved to an undisclosed location hoping to evade him with a friendly reach.

You suck.

I hate to see this happen to new players. Some people just feel the need to be complete dicks, though. Rule #1 in any open PvP game is: Don't trust anyone! Rule #2 is: Don't forget rule #1! I never can remember who the quote is supposed to belong to, but it goes something like "Don't trust anyone, not even yourself."

Then again, how did the other guy figure out where you lived? If you went far enough, there's no practical way he (or she) could have found you. If you took something or performed another criminal act, you just lead them right to you.

He said days not a day. Plural meaning he was there for some time.

So I accidentally cut off the 's'. Big effin deal. The point it is that it wasn't a week or weeks and was probably some 'tard he met in-game.

How are you so sure? Maybe he was a newbie trying to take advantage of a legitimately nice dude. Tried to get away with slipping the tip in but instead got his ass kicked.

ive taught newbs because i like more compentent people to trade with in the future. but every now and then a noob does nothing for days despite repeated effort from my side. then he realizes im prob gonna kick him out soon and packs up what he can of my shit and leaves. i teach them in my noob town thats not exactly filled with valuable stuff but it still irks me enough that i dont want to have to deal with a incompetend douche in the future(or even allow him to exist) so i track him down and kill. thats prob what happened here.

TL;DR: the guy that got killed might have gotten killed for a legitimate reason.

My post goes both ways. Those that know how the game works should be well aware of the Prime Directive of HnH. Those that aren't aware of it need to be "infomed". My point, for both parties, is that "living with this dude for days" is how everyone got screwed. You build relationships over weeks and months. The fact that he was already living at the dudes place without any relationship building is what brought this whole thing down. it's like having a sex. You can screw anyone you meet, but, before long, you're going to end up with a deadly disease or a baby on the way nobody wants. (yeah, modern science has almost cured all the STDs, but that doesn't mean they're not deadly if left untreated.)

I don't know either of these people from a hole in a wall and I certainly wouldn't stick my dick in it to see what's on the other side. Hmm... brings a strange thought to mind. The HnH glory hole... what's on the other side? Man? Woman? Cow? Giant effin guillotine?

I don't think murdering to resolve problems was ever considered as competency, was it?
The game have a perfect mechanism for that. You don't have to kill someone to teach him a lesson you can Ko him and rip him naked, you can also exile him if its a village question, but most people seam to think that murdering is actually the normal and obvious thing to do, well until they got summoned i guess by people that share their vision... I guess people are too much into the random killing kind of game and thing it is awesome or something.
