New to this

So I'm new to this game, but I find it really fun. Set up a nice little camp with my leanto, bed and baskets. Anyone wanna suggest me to do something that I should do right away for any reason?

Give fishing a try, make a house and setup a personal claim using yeomanry, once you have this, get to work on a palisade as soon as possible. Until then, store anything you'd hate to lose on either your person, or on an alternate character so that they are not stolen over night.

Catch a rabbit, so you can discover bones. Make a bone saw. Cut some boards. Make or find a boat and travel around discovering everything you see. Look for plants and things to study for LP. Almost every terrain has it's own curiosities. Mudflats have thistles, grasslands have dandelions, swamps have lady's mantles, waterways have flotsam, forests have cone cows. Explore the world looking for a nice place to settle. Don't settle on the water though unless you're quick to build a wall. When you settle, a Stake Claim should be your first priority, so save up for Yeomanry while you are exploring.

I agree with putting your best stuff in your inventory when you log out~

Another good early stat is Exploration because most plants are invisible until your PER * EXP score is high enough to see them.
This makes Exploration an investment... it costs LP but it raises your ability to make LP.

I have most of this all down, got getting food covered, building, collecting, ect. but I can't ever seem to find rabbits to discover bones so I can't make a saw for boards to continue with building things, should I put points into the exploration skill?

Edit: Woops seen that the question I asked already had an answer, but it's a pain to collect LP and find curiosities like dandelions.

Exploration won't help you see rabbits. You may need to roam around for several minutes before you come across one. Also, some curiosities are crafted, like cone cows. Fir cone + 4 branch (it is the most basic one). Other than that you can build bark boats, feather dusters, and find curios like ant soldiers (from raiding ant hills, I recommend having 10 unarmed before trying this) and dragonflies.
Of another era.
