WHY

Postby Orcling » Sat Mar 31, 2012 4:29 pm

So I found this abandoned place, or maybe not. I don't know, but first i found this:

Someone explain to me why they built the well right next to the river? Being noobs isn't enough of an explanation and anyone with common sense wouldn't do that. I would've understood if it was inside the walls, but... oh well(see what i did thar?).

Next, i found this:

It seems some furfag found this place before me and left it's mark there.

Just...

As for while people wonder why I post this obviously uninteresting and boring stuff, I'm bored and there's no other interesting thread to read. So there's that.

Well you never know what q of water you will get out of the well. I have built wells all over place around me as well to "detect" maximum possible quality I can get. And well can have different quality water than river even if standing 1 tile away from it.

I tested it, it's q10. The entire goddamn river was Q10 for atleast 1 screen in either direction

But before you build it you can't know what q you will get if you build well there...

But there weren't any other wells further inland. If you're gonna try, you try atleast farther from the river first, right?

Last I checked well Q is in relation to the water system near it, if there IS a difference it'd only be by a few points... I believe it'd be nearly impossible to get a q 90 well beside a q10 lake lol

This is true.

The only difference in the quality is water quality from wells is always at it's peak, so if someone drained lets say a Q90 node down to Q10 right beside this well, the well would give Q90 while the river would give Q10, even though they're under the same node.

I think that's been tweaked slightly now also, I've had well q decrease if the water node was depleted.
Taking from the well doesn't decrease q but from the river does
