First Contact

So today was my first day of meeting someone in the game world who was established in the game. I wanted to throw out the scenario to get an idea if my interpretation is good or bad. Being new to this community and knowing that this game is highly dependant on social interations I felt it was appropriate to get feedback from my fellow hearthlings.
The facts:
Been playing a little over a week now
Found a few fellow new players and we have started setting up a nice living area
Today a new unknown person shows up at my claim
He immediatly invites me to be kin
I accept
He asks what language we speak
I declare English
He states we are not casual
He then says bye
Over the next 15-20 minutes he logs in and out of the game a ton ! (Not sure what that is about )

Interpretation:
A well established heathling who has what I Beleive to be a merchants cloak, top hat and monocle shows up and wants to be kin, I Assume he is from nearby and was just scouting around and found us. He kins me to set up relations so we can trade or communicate. I assume this because if he had bad intentions he would of just killed us when he first found us, but I'm not sure .... paranoia is setting in and I'm starting to feel unsafe now and me friends and I are now thinking about moving to be safe.

So any feedback is welcome and I look forward to hearing the responses.

Frankly, when it comes to Haven, that's about the best greeting you could possibly get. You're right, there could be some malicious intent, but frankly you're weak enough that anything an established player intent on griefing you could do you can't stop anyway.

Save up, get the brick wall. Too many people die because they don't have one. That's actually how I last got killed indirectly.
