i doubt the drop he's talking about is due to the curios join date 2012...

it's the lag, the game's near unplayable right now, there's one reason for a large number, another being that the world is at a very elite stage, many players that can't keep up or got killed and can't face starting over at such a late stage have quit until world 7

i really don't think that salem had a big hit on haven's playerbase, the number of players while i was playing it was usually below 100
