Release the toads of war???

Today somebody left a Runestone and two baskets full of toads outside my palisade, the stone reads.. . "Release the toads of war" does anyone know what this means? Should I be concerned?

Yes. Leaving toads at your walls is a clear and well established threat among hnh players (and possibly even some people in real life). Its origin is directly from the plagues of Egypt in biblical times. The first plague (being blood) is usually delivered by killing small animals on your property, usually in the form of chickens, rats, etc. (You may been offline for the first plague.) You should really Google the rest but you're basically fucked.

Any chance that brushing sheeps blood on my front door will save my first born?

Does anyone know if this an act of revenge or is it a random act of violence?
