Thief and griefing

Postby milo » Wed Oct 14, 2009 4:24 pm

Well we were recently robbed and had all of our trees cut down. We have been walled in and vandalized and now there is a guy who refuses to leave my claim. He walks around on it and will not leave, he is obviously an alt trying to provoke me to action. I don't want to leave a murder scent, I haven't even been playing for very long.

This is our third village that has been griefed and forced us to move, we aren't even close to the main grid. I would like to play this game but it's currently impossible with this man threatening us and walking around on our claim. Unfortunately if I try to stop him I will be hunted and killed while offline. This really isn't fun anymore.

His name is Mitch, I don't know who he is but he's from a group of griefers who won't leave us alone. I cannot play this game until something can be done about players like this. My little brother was threatened and stole from and won't even log in anymore, it's really lame. I would appreciate if something could be done about this, some way for a player to not be killed for protecting himself. I like this game a lot but it is not fun to be harassed daily. Thanks for a fun few weeks.

-EDIT Liamardo, Mitch, Jon are all part of this group. They attacked me and have robbed from and griefed us repeatedly. My friend has been forced to deal with Jon.

Wall up your claim ASAP, perhaps? Or just move FAR out. I mean, i'm a good 30 minute walk out and the animals are around level 2 with me so it's safe.

As for the griefer, he's a douchebag. People will probably hunt him for you.

Also, Jorb will track the guy down. Walling in gates is a gay thing to do and Jorb warned everyone not to do it.

Thanks man but I'm like two grids away. He won't leave and has cut down quite a few trees around here. He just follows us around destroying whatever we try to build. It would take a long time to wall here as the nearest trees are so far now and he will steal the logs as we get them. I just want to play the game.

Is he always online? If not, you might have a chance to build a boat and slip away. If he is always online, then you might just have to get new characters to escape him; fighting is just what he wants. It's sad, but Jorb and Loftar apparently have a noninterference pledge, and so most likely won't do anything about it. This "Mitch" is definitely on my list, though.
Surprise.

Consider joining an established faction to build up your characters before setting out on your own

OK one of the culprits is named Jon, recently deceased. He claims to be a ranger but I seriously doubt that as he has been robbing and threatening us. I have had my friend kill him and we will kill anyone else who continues to steal from us. Liamardo, Mitch and all the other griefers would do well to stay away from us from now on.

Liamardo attacked me today and paid this man Jon to finish the job. This seems to be the only recourse to stop them so we will hunt you down as per the rules of the game.

Oh wow, It's been awhile since I heard about Jon.

Must've been quite a surprise getting attacked at the RoB when I decided to do something about him in my early days.
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

yea one of the sorespots of the game

in my very new and humble oppinion, the theft and vandalizing skills should be taken out. i also think that rage and murder should be brought down cost wise. so basically if your on your plot of ground, nobody can hurt you, but if you leave then your free game. I mean most of the peeps here are nice people who will help you out and just over all be a good neighbor. but it's punks like these that suck. i mean i can go kill a guy for being an ass, and then he can wait till i'm offline and summon me and kill me. nobody shouldn't be able to be killed while they're offline. but then again nobody should be allowed to go on ur property.

what i would like to see is make your claim pole always on the outside of your claim(yea if you expand, it moves with your claimed land) and give it the hp of a palaside or something. then the person who wants you dead, can come along and try to destroy said claim pole(thus destroyiung your ownership of land), and if your online you can repair it(after you kill him, or he kills you and leaves you alone)

but then again i'm new so who knows.
