Are P-claims more Viable then V-claims?

Postby rogoku » Mon Jul 02, 2012 5:14 pm

Lets face it, P-claims have no upkeep, very little cost, and can't be destroyed.

V-claims are the opposite of that. The only upside for a V-claim is that expanding land doesn't cost LP unlike P-claims. V-claims can also use CR which can be good for big villages that need nodes.

What is your opinion on the subject? Are P-claims too strong to be ignored?

I'm not saying they need to be weakened. I just want to know what people think about P-claims vs V-claim

...what does it matter to you? It's a basic mechaninc of the game that noone really cares to discuss it. I may be wrong though, but nonetheless. I don't see why it would matter to you what peoples opinions are on such a trivial mechanic.

Well I was wodering because I had an idea to make a little "Village" For my friend, and I was wondering what people touhght about v-claim or p-claim because that would determine how the village would work and look like.

a personal claim can be destroyed by a village claim.

Between this and access to crossroads, I think the OP has the answer he's looking for. If you play regularly, keeping the authority up on a VClaim isn't that hard. I was keeping 500k filled just by myself during w5. The trick is pushing more Charisma and Intelligence if you want a bigger claim. Make sure you log out wearing your +cha, +int items as well so when you log in, you get the authority bonus.

One downside to having just a Vclaim: animals still spawn on it, so make sure you and your friend at least have a good enough buffer area for personal claims so you don't log in staring down a bear or boar. Nothing like getting the UI to come up and active and finding your character laying on the ground KO or dead. :(
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

V-claim: Unlocks idoljumping, crossroads etc. / Quite high upkeep ; Low cost ; No advanced privillage managment (passing/taking items/building and destroying)
Can be destroyed only if members stop upkeeping // All members can upkeep and pay for expansions
P-claim: Unlocks nothing / No upkeep ; Low to high cost ; Advanced privillage managment
Can be destroyed when in range of other village claim without warning but in fact no bigger PC will be ever destroyed because it would take ridiculous ammount of authority // Only ruler can pay for expansions
