A noober than I has been exploring the area near me. I can tell because the beehive in my removed farm has been pinched... why would anyone pinch a beehive?

I used to steal beehives when i was a noob. I was trying to save up wax and honey to trade for a pick axe because i didnt understand how wax and honey worked for beehives. I had about 15 beehives covering 20 tiles of crops
