A Sad Story

*Edit: If you have a sad story as well, please share.

The day I was born into Haven and Hearth I was looking to join up with a friend who sadly was two hours away. He quit. I stayed. I soon found out my home was on this small island. I knew nothing. I figured out rats was food and bunnies were easy to catch. For days I lived off that until one day a guy in a boat came along. He had a cape of deep brown that at the time looked like it had a dog head. He said "Hi". I wasn't shy as I did not know the dangers of haven and hearth and replied "Hi". From then on he took me in his boat and I asked him questions.

He answered them and eventually dropped me off at a location in which I could live. Every day he came two hours down a river to teach me something and give me a gift whether it be a tool or food. Then one day I waited. He did not show. The next day he was not there and for three days after that. Then one day I saw another man on a boat. And said to him "Hi." and he said "Hi, you wouldn't be Sacha would you?" I replied yes and he said he was Toms friend and came to tell he died defending his village from a raid and he quit haven and hearth and gave me his bear cape that I liked so much.

I didn't know what to say or what to do. I took a boat out and wandered doing the only thing I knew well enough to do. Find rabbit. I came across this moving thing in the shrub. I walked up to it only seeing the black main which it wore. I attacked me and I died. It was a boar.

I was reborn onto a new island with a small camp. Soon I came across two brothers. One a miner and another a farmer. They taught me the life of haven and hearth and the basics of what to do like exploration and personal beliefs. They let me live outside their palisade and gave me metals tools to play around with. Then one day they were joining a village. They said I should come along too and so I did. Everyone was nice to me and friendly. I was given hunter and I would hunt down as mch as I could every day for them.

Then one day a tragedy happened. A bear spawned inside our palisade and I was on the outside on the river. I shot it and almost killed it and it began to run. It ran right into our metal smith and killed him. A farmer girl I knew was walking right into the bear not knowing it was there and I knew I had to save her as she was my teacher and mentor and my best friend. I ran in an shot the bear. I missed. I ran towards me with full force and soon I joined the metal smith. I came back with a new alt and couldn't handle it and quit. I came back three days later to find our village was raided. I looked among the bodies and found the farmer girl's body with a head stone. It read "Suck my cock little girl." and she had her pants removed. I was horrified and greatly depressed. I gathered all the bodies down by the river and game them proper head stones as that was the only thing I could do. Then I swam into the lake.

I was reborn once more. This time in the woods. I was alone for weeks. I built things like arenas to battle chickens in to amuse me. I lived honest. Then one day a man came up to me and asked me for food. I was happy to see someone. I gave him a table of food. He said "Thank you but die bitch." and he killed me. I was killed for my hospitality?

I then respawned and lived in a new forest. There I met noobs and taught them the game. I fed them, I clothed them, I made tools for them. Then world 5 ended and world 6 begun. I joined and wanted to join the friends that I had made. I met up with a polish boy I knew that spoke little enlgish but was very kind. He told me what was going to happen if joined up with my new friends. They plotted to kill me. I made a palisade and caged myself in and didn't leave.

The polish boy told me that there was a village that I should join with him and being bored I said yes. I joined these people and farmed for them for two weeks then my internet went out for 2 weeks. I came back to find the village destroyed once again I wasn't there to help. Not knowing what to do I walked looking for a boat. To my surprise I found a palisade with no gate and a hole in the side with no land ownership and all supplies inside. I called this place home and I felt happy there. Then I met a english man down the river and we became friends and hunted together. One day I went down to see him and saw him dead with no pants. I gave him my pants and gave him him a proper head stone and put him inside his house like he would have wanted and went home. Next day I was killed and I quit again.

I came back this time just wanting to live and I started a new home. I have nothing. I know no one. I see no one. The place I knew as home was destroyed. The people I knew now gone with their graves being disgraced.

And all I can ask as a honest hearthling can ask is why? Why do people think disgracing people they kill is funny? Why do people kill others for showing them kindness? Why must an honest hearthling die? Why must noobs be punished for learning? Why must villages fall for the things they make?

As I thought this day, I know why.
Greed, destruction, hatred, revenge, sickness.

People live in fear for they may see not the next day, but I live in hope that I may see an old friend or someone that still is good in this unforgiving world.

People are capable of kindness angels can only dream of, yet can commit sins that put demons to shame.

I admire your story, it's nice to hear of someone who found hospitality in other players. You managed to find the benevolent and kind players, which can be few and far between.

About your questions, I'd probably say the reason people are so disgraceful and are jerks is probably due to the nature of this game. Just how the internet can be a very very unforgiving place if you at where there isn't moderation/rules, Haven and Hearth follows suit with it's "everything goes" attitude. It just naturally brews up the bad in people, and sadly there isn't much you can do to stop that from happening short of changing the core of the game.

If this happens to be the end of your time playing Haven and Hearth, I hope you can still cherish what fun you did manage to have and just continue to have a positive outlook on life, this game can really kill some people on the inside.

Usually it's the people that are boring/disrespectable that die in noob slaughters, depending on the murderer. Some people will just kill you with no talk.

When I usually attack some noobs and let them live it's because they're cute/entertaining and might help them/offer help to them if someone tries to kill them. Though whenever I check on their settlements they quit in 3 days. Really, I'd help every noob that isn't an idiot if it didn't reguire much time/effort on my part or they didn't quit so often when they got bored.

I miss world 3

I agree. I find my fun with simple things like feeding my cows and trying to farm silk moths and I love collecting beehives. I don't know why but I do love beehives. And through what I have been through I still offer my hospitality whether it kill me or not but like you have said in global chat before "Trust No One" is a saying well said. But there are the few that live that are just like me just trying to hold on and live in this unforgiving game.

As for the pantsing, random killing, or plain stealing, It isn't funny. It dishonorable and disrespectful.

If you kill do it for a reason and then show your respect.

I started pantsing because i didn't like killing people
for things like theft or vandalism when it could have
been accidental, so i'd leave notes with "Your pants
or your life" on a theif after summoning them and
then just walking away without touching anything.

I started killing because people started killing randomly,
so i had to put them down.

I don't understand how people can kill random noobs
then take their pants and do all that stuff... just aint
right! Contrary to common belief, i don't kill random
noobs, and i look down on it....

Long story short, your story made me cry =<

Naowut thanks. But you had a reason for it. People stole and vandalized which is a perfectly good reason. But the people that die that never committed that is what my problem was.
