The hosting provider Hetzner Online is currently considering to raise prices for IPv4 addresses. The Martin Hetzner confirmed to heise networks on demand: "We have floated in the Hetzner customer forum a possible price range of two to five euros per IPv4 address." Whether the provider actually performs this price increase will be decided until next week, continued Hetzner. Subsequently, the company will inform its customers about it.

The possible price increases reflect apparently not only on new contracts. Also threaten existing customers significant additional costs because the existing contracts often include some, free IPv4 addresses or entire / 25 IPv4 subnets (126 hosts).

while i certainly don't dispute that going with a local colo would be a great thing, it seems like they are only increasing the price per IP address, of which afaik loftorb only has one, so it's only a few extra euros/month

FYI
From February 2013 leads the hosting provider Hetzner additionally booked for all IPv4 addresses and address ranges, a fee of 1 euro per address per month. This was announced by the provider to its customers in the customer forum. Last week the company announced the price increase, but it still spoken by much higher costs per month. The quoted prices should now apply to both new and existing customers - also would not grant discounts to large customers. I'm only in "a fair and cost-effective solution for all customers," concluded, the author writes in his message.

The introduction of fees Hetzner want depending on the size of the IPv4 address space additionally booked stagger time. Individual addresses and / 29 address ranges (6 host addresses + broadcast and network address) cost from February fees - for the / 29 subnet requires Hetzner 8 euros. Customers with additional / 28-IPv4 subnets (14 host addresses) fall a month later the price increase and then pay 16 euros. From May, then come / 28 - and / 26 address ranges added with 30 or 62 host addresses for which a Hetzner customer must then pay 32 or 64 euros extra per month.

It will develop an automatic termination of the provider for IPv4 addresses and networks. She argues further providers from larger subnets form smaller, only larger amounts of single IPv4 addresses might not technically be awarded.
