Stab proof vests

I know I could just search this on web, but hey why not light up the Inn with some more discussion.

Is it possible to get a stab proof vest anywhere legally in Europe without permission?
What material? Is it possible to get anything more comfortable than kevlar? Are there any research on a flexible material.
Would it offer protection vs. serious lunges?
I mean seriously, it would be good to have one, at least for the sake of doing something when a man with knife can terrorise a whole bus. Seriously.

nah jordan - only some few european countries ppls problems I guess there are only a few countries where you can't solve a knife holding guy problem the easy way (don't forget we have different gun laws then lots of USA states!)
