Immersive video game characters

So, I recently viewed that new Tomb Raider trailer, and it gave me an idea.
What are your most immersive/compassionable/whatever video game characters?

Personally afair, I can tell that it would be Baker from Brothers in Arms. Of those WII games I've played, this was only one worth it, and damn devs won't make sequel ;_;

I wont ever forget Grim Fandango. For its time and even for me personally today is one of the best adventure and emersive games. I dono if they even make games like that anymore. Blockbusters literally have dumbed down the game industry nowadays to a level that it is only suitable for kids 12 years or younger. Fancy graphics is all its about nowadays and this new Tomb Raider is just along that line.
