Mine Locations

Postby Yolan » Mon Jun 08, 2009 7:12 am

Now that I am getting into ore smeltering and iron working, I am becoming rather unhappy with my current farm location. Even though it has access to a lot of wood, out in ring three, it is quite a way to the ring of Bodgar mine. I could make a stone road there, but that is a major undertaking to say the least.

I don't think I can really ask for my own mine seeming as it is just me out here.

So, I am thinking about relocating...

The question I have is, where are the current mine locations? I know that a few have been granted to various settlements, but I only know of the one at bottleneck at at Brodgar. Has anybody made a map showing where they are??

Uh. YOU COULD REQUEST A MINE.

You know. At a actually reasonable place. By PMIing the devs.

Its been done before. You just need to grab the world map, size it down to just a chunk where you live, and then circle in the area you want the mine at. Then place a Rune Stone marking the location ingame of it.

Its been done before. Pretty sure Malicus finally sorted his out and got it where he wanted it.

Uh... you could read my post properly before writing in all caps as though I hadn't thought of that.

Could you read past my arguably "I don't give a shit, I'll post anyway" shoot off?

Malicus is alone. He still requested a mine.

Why do you need other people around to bother asking for a mine? Its perfectly reasonable rather then going for any or lengths other then just going to actually known established villages and towns, which will almost certainly have a mine there.

Whatever.

public mines usually are claimed by the people who requested them.
The ones who see things differently.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

My mine is actually not claimed, even though I have a big claim otherwise. Other people can use it, but I'm not putting up a map to my place, because I'm not a big fan of... interlopers.

How does one go about PMing the Devs?
I played as a hunter/tanner a LOT, and Im thinking of switching over and exploring the mining for a bit. If possible, id like a mine. I know i need to put up a runestone that says MINE HERE PLEASE, but I dont know how to go about the actual contact.
