doing time. . tryin to find clay nodes.

Talked to a couple of friends and they talked me into looking for a new place for a village. I Have off a few days from work, so why not.

Started looking friday. the best i found was a high Q20 and spent about 3 hours walking around in one direction. found others, but mainly in low teens

Saturday - best I found was round low Q 30's but the place had active villages in general area and an active village bout a stone's throw to the left of it. Spent bout 5 hours walking and boating(when i could find one) in another general direction

Today - started around 7am(bout 6 hrs ago) and only found low teens

I have one more direction to go, but the outlook does not look well. and to be clear, i'm only checking mudflats, nothing by any water's edge.

My goal is hopely to find one in a mudflat away from rivers and the clay sample be 30's to 40's depending on any evidence of traffic.

the funny thing is, my buddies have a village right next to what we're looking for, but the previous owner has left his claim up and we're gonna need over 1 and a half mill vil auth to kill his claim. That looks damn near impossible to us.

well wish us luck or share your rescource finding highs/woes

Good luck. It may be rare but if you find cave clay check the quality of that too. The perfect clay spot would be in the middle of a cave as it's so innocuous and easy to defend. Sure, you'll need above ground operations to farm but you can do most things underground.

i'm lost on the easy to defend part as anyone can build a minehole and just tunnel to it?

If you attempt to build a minehole into an area that is built on, once you finish the minehole nothing appears and your resources are lost. You also cannot tunnel upwards.

Good luck on finding a cool clay node.
Ive almost entirely been playing as an hermit and I've never really bothered searching for anything.
Maybe I should...

Just to test things out, made a new toon the other day, and with in a few hours found an unclaimed cave, that seems vrigin thru and thru, along with a clay source of ql 25 close by, on top of a ql 40 dirt node. The area are out there, I think I got lucky tho.
