Want to join a town

Postby Agarrett » Sun Oct 25, 2009 3:09 am

I wish to join a town with a few requirements:

A mine that I may use in return for some of my smithing products.

A forest not to far away for wood.

The town isn't huge.

Lots of open space for building.

I just started today and I know the basics of how to play. I wish to become a smith so if anyone knows how to and can teach me would be nice. I currently live in Brodgar, so I probably have no idea how to get to your town, so we may arrange a time for you to come and pick me up.

Sorry if I seem a bit picky, but only the mine is required. I would like a small town first, then lots of space for building, then a forest not to far away in order of what I want the most. Thank you for anyone who is willing to accept me into their village.

Check Brodgar.

They have a thread in "In Congress assembled"

Also, mines are pretty rare on the current map.

If you didn't see, I said I currently live in Brodgar. But anyways, I don't need 20 choices, 3 or 4 or maybe even 2 choices would be nice.

I'm going to be back tommarow morning to see if there are any replies. Please consider accepting me into your town, as I will work as hard as possible to make it a better place in the Haven and Hearth world.

the best advice i can give you is to work on your unarmed, survival, and cooking skills, and get to a point where you can do a bit of hunting and roast meat that gives FEPs. build your stats up a bit, get most of the non-incrementing skills, and then get your smithing skill up. continue reading the forums, lurking and asking questions in IRC. you'll find out more about the towns that are out there and what might be a good fit for you, and establish a rapport with people. good luck, and have fun.

I think this is a guy who I trained up this morning, he knows the basics now, he's really just looking for a town to recruit him because he found brodgar a little to restrictive in terms of lot size and a bit to desolate in terms of trees.

My advice Agarrett is to look in the In Congress Assembled forum for villages that are advertising and apply to them directly rather than asking them to come to you.

Good luck with finding a place that suits you

I'd say Innsmouth but Chak probably doesn't feel like escorting you, and I'm terrible at combat so I'd make a terrible guard.

Although, you can get to it via the river systems. I think we have a thread in "in congress assembled"

You should also keep in mind that a lot of towns are weary of strangers, due to inside thefts. You won't be accepted into a town right away until they've known you for an extended period of time to judge your character.

But if they accepted a stranger and things started disappearing after they came, wouldn't it be pretty obvious who did it?
