Any spectacular goals this time around?

Postby hazzor » Thu Jun 06, 2013 3:01 am

Just curious as to whether anyone's planning on doing something a little out of the ordinary this world, I've been playing far too much DF and plan on digging myself a fortress of sorts in an unspecified (for obvious reasons, you're all cunts) cave. something like this.
Image

where;
Black = Cave wall
purple = Vidol
dark brown = tables with chairs
light brown = cupboards
red O shapes = production buildings (smelters, ovens etc.)
green = timber house

and for those that prefer it, a version with supports overlaid.

the stuff that's on there is the plan, with the rest of the rooms to be used for whatever they need to be used for...

Anyone else got anything grand that they plan to do this world just to shake things up a bit?
Oh boy, here I go cheesemaking again...

I would like to see that, maybe lend a hand in it later into the world. Right now, I'm struggling to not die and some what prevail(still need a spot to settle)

Fair warning: I don't think you can pave within one tile of the cave wall/mine wall, so you're gonna want to be careful with those houses and such. You'll either need mine supports behind them or just rage-mine and power through the cave ins. Otherwise, this is cool as shit and I really hope Jorb adds cave crops so stuff like this is both fun and actually possible.

Well it'll be constructed underneath the main settlement so it'll have really close access to the village's above ground facilities, it'll make quite a nice mining base I think, with smelters and crucibles and absolutely tonnes of storage space, plus, I'm super stoked for how cool it'll be just because it's something I've never seen

The low life has lost its appeal
And I'm tired of walking these streets

I've had one already too... saw some nasty people at my boat and ran back hoping they wouldn't steal it, didn't expect a slap around the head, shortly followed by a stone in the face from his friend's sling... so at least I can say it wasn't just some bullshit death like an auroch... what kind of noob would die to that...

I have plans to create a huge garden/park thing for people to come sit around in. when the time comes, Ill prolly ask people from the community to come contribute. back in w3 I had kubla khan written on runestones at one of my villages. Ill prolly try to do something like that again, but bigger.
