How is melee combat

Postby Nicstar543543 » Sun Jun 09, 2013 9:26 pm

Is it even worth it to spend LP into melee? I have a bronze sword and dunno if it'll be worth having to penetrate armor instead of just punching them. If it's even remotely decent compared to UA, should I use a shield with it or no?

The shield and MC scales very well compared to UA and dodge, but the whole swordsmanship turns really weak compared to UA late-game.

you can pull off a pretty neat combo if you have the LP for it, but no one does at this point, UA first... MC is pretty good for animals though, thanks to the higher defense scaling and the generally higher damage per hit if you have a sword

Willing to bet MC will be extremely strong this world with the changes to some of the moves.

Also note swords recently got nerfed. Movement combat was given weight instead of auto pen, and swords deal 75% the damage they used to deal at base value.

Overall it's safer to just invest in UA at this point for combat.

I think both UA and MC is important, but MC is mostly to finish your enemy. So when he is KO'ed, take off his armor and sting him to death.

Melee combat is good and useful for dealing quick death blows and what have you. A sting on a running target with low defense is usually game over.

I was talking to Koya though and he said that melee and UAC are useless and the best thing to do is crash the server and abuse bugs to kill everyone.

Do we even know any details about the sword nerfing yet? I guess they just reduce the damage of each type of sword but I'd like to know by how much.

The problem with MC is that you still need more UA, you can't really focus on it. Getting hit on the move when you're pure MC is still like it was before the movement combat nerf, ie instant death. If that wasn't the case, I reckon pure MC could be viable if you keep your distance and call thunder, and then move in for a quick combo.
