Most Useless Well Placement Ever?

Found this today while foraging, is there some sort of trick involving water quality I don't know about, or did I just stumble upon the most useless well placement in history...

Did you check the river and well's water quality? Cause wells water never goes down in quality, where as taking from a river, eventually the quality of the water degrades. There "could" be a water node nearby, or there "could" be a troll that built that well lol.

If I'd had such waternode with well possibility, I'd build well too, simply cause you don't lower q with it. Not sure why so many question marks about those wells.
