They stay dead. That is the general essence of this thread. There are only very, very few reasons that will get you resurrected.

Usually not either judging by past experience. There have been a handful ressurections, mostly when players abused serious bugs to kill other people, but once or twice also because of serious bugs in the game itself.

One of our guys tried prospecting for mines when they were introduced in world 2 and he hit prospecting when being on the same screen as the mine so he walked up to it automatically. Sadly the mine position was at the bottom of a river...He got rezzed.

That was a nasty fiasco of lies that only hammered further into our heads the consequences of making exceptions to the perma death rule. If I had to guess a motive behind why it was done, likely because it was a breach of account sanctity and the culprit stepped forward with a confession. The culprit was punished and we were supposed to take away from that, that hacking into other's accounts through any means is unacceptable. Nothing ever works so neatly of course.

I am pretty sure in hindsight the devs regard that as a mistake. Which is probably why none of the Portgas victims got rezzed either.

What do you imply? Still with the anal friends nonsense? The only thing I ever got from Jorb was my character nerfed by 75% of his LP...
