Peace and Prosperity!

My friends and I have come back to world 7 after the lag-storm of the past server. It is definitely much more enjoyable without stopping for 3 minutes every 15 seconds. At first I was worried as the player population seemed at an all time high, and new players were joining left and right, I figured no place would be safe for my hearthling and friends to settle...

After being a complete noob for a couple of hours, my friend and I finally setup a little camp. We worked late into the night to progress our characters, and build up some land to call our own. While foraging we came across a small encampment on the shores with some unguarded leather in the rack, some cooked meats, and someone sleeping in a lean-to. As any hearthling would, we considered this a gift, started taking down the leather and running off into the woods. During this another stranger ran at us from the woods yelling "Hey, stop that! Leave our stuff alone!" my posse and I sprinted down the beach.

When we convened we stopped to decide what we were going to do. Just last night, we ourselves were robbed of our leather - We knew how it felt to have your rabbit skins stolen while you sleep, let alone the feeling of chasing the culprits helplessly. Nervously I paced back towards the encampment shouting "We are peaceful!" as we approached. As we were speaking with the strangers, returning their leathers, and exchanging stories of bandits nearby I cloaked stranger made his way down the shoreline. He was clad in the skin of a bear, wielding a weapon. He barked at us in a strange language and accused the strangers of vandalizing his property and stealing from him - Which seemed impossible as the strangers were so new.

Rather than scamper off into the wild I decided to try at diplomacy and reason with the hostile stranger. I explained it was impossible for us to steal, so new to this world. Eventually reason took hold and he left us. Even the strangers knew we were not safe here. Having previously explored the peninsula I knew we were trapped on the island with them. There was a quick and unanimous decision to leave immediately, with the strangers. We packed our goods into crates and worked with great fervor to construct a small armada of boats. We set off into the night, down river. After nearly a fortnight of paddling and portaging our weary group found a peaceful forest. We wasted no time erecting some huts, racks, and a well. Though it had only been days if felt like weeks since we left the forest from where we came.

Another week passed, by now well stocked and our bellies getting plumper. Some of us were growing lazy, and we let our guard down. While out foraging and hunting for the group a masked stranger ran into our camp and started going through all of our goods, helping himself. Our lone farmer bravely approached the fellow to try and make peace. He was told "Stay still or I will kill you." and so he did and he was told and stood there helplessly while the bandit took all of our leather, curiosities, and food, he then destroyed the leftovers and started to romp off into the darkness. A few moments had passed and the farmer, paralyzed with fear, finally followed in the direction of the bandit, who to his displeasure was coming back to the camp! This time however the mask was removed. "Where are you from?" he asked "How many of you live here?" deciding to trust the man the farmer told him what he knew. The stranger then apologized for the looting, stated he badly needed leather, he promised immunity for the group and left them with some curious trinkets that were of great value and craftsmanship. The farmer thanked the stranger for not killing him on sight, and the two parted ways peacefully.

I thought that would have been enough excitement for one day, but was quickly proven wrong. When I had returned from my foraging trip and began working on tanning more leathers as a completely naked man stumbled from the ticket, covered in blood, panting heavily. He sprinted to a nearby cart and started pulling it back into the forest. Just when I thought I'd seen it all, a massive swarm of ants enveloped the nude thief and made him instantly drop to the ground writhing in pain. Removing the palm from my face, I jaunted over to the confused man and brushed the masses of ants off of him. When he finally woke up he stumbled around with a confused look on his face and said "Hi." - "Hey there, I am peaceful. If you need help just ask. But don't steal from me." his eyes darted around the clearing and he focused intensely on the bone saw I was carrying. "Can I have this?" he asked, as he helped himself to it. "I suppose you can." I sighed and I wandered back to camp while keeping an eye on the strange man. He seemed to think his friend lived to the north and he disappeared into the woods from where he came.

All in all, an eventful and surprisingly peaceful/cooperative start to World 7 for myself and my friends. :)
I hope I can keep up the good luck and sort things out diplomatically when possible.

Side note: This all happened within ~2 IRL days of playing, and everything we've built or crafted so far is currently on public/unclaimed land, which is surprising.

I was able to find only 1 nice russian in my whole HnH life(I started at the end of w6), I met her in an island and she was new so I gave her a tour around the place (with my speedboat 9000 that I stole from one of our villager :D) and thought her some things that I know

Heart-warming thread. Well written, too, quite an enjoyable read.
Wished I started out in as peaceful a place as you.
W3 to W6 - Blockland. Special mentions: New Avalon, Tarn of Hotdog, Red October.
W7 - Elvenia, til we all got lazy.
W8 - Cult of R'lyeh, til the deeps called us back.
W9 - Tartarus, til death/wizards came for the land itself.
W10 - ???, ruined and forgotten.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate it and it lets me know if I should continue or not. I'll try to get some screenshots in here and there when I can but I don't want to give away too much detail after I saw what happened to poor 'lil DefaultClient.

I'm going to reformat the text, anything that relates to the story/journal will be in italics.

Days had passed and I was beginning to hone my skills as a craftsman, I spent countless hours ensuring the tools I was working with were the best possible ones I could find. When I felt I was ready to brave the wilds I set off to forage, truly alone for the first time since I came to these lands. With the wind at my back, I took a swig from my flask and set off into the unknown.

During my journey I practiced my skills with a sling. I picked up all sorts of oddly shaped stones and tried to knock down branches or hit rabbits to no avail, there was no denying I was a lousy marksman. I decided I'd take a break from that and sling together a simple raft so I could cover more ground. Hours had passed, but it did float, it was a boat. I dragged it into the nearby river and started gliding down the stream carelessly, it was so peaceful I was practically nodding off. Bang! The boat crashed into the shoreline, startled I yelped and to further my problems, alerted a nearby boar! I scuttled quickly back into the boat and kicked off at the last moment. The boar lunged at me and barely missed, and I was floating safely a few meters away.

It quickly dawned on me I still had my sling and a fair collection of stones in the boat. If there were ever a time to become a skilled hunter, now was that time. Rock after rock I flung at the beast, its squeals of rage and pain growing louder with every throw, a final stone cracked it in the skull and the animal slumped to the ground. I was victorious, I was a hunter! I packed up the carcass and made my way back to camp as quickly as I could. Little did I know the bloodshed was not yet over.

As I approached our encampment, I knew something was different, the single new path I had taken to leave had many footsteps heading back in the wrong direction. As I came closer and closer I could smell fires burning and could see signs of struggle in nearby grass beds. As I made it through the last of the thicket I came to realize my worst fears. Our camp was destroyed, all of our drying racks lying in piles, our crates upturned, and anything the attackers could not carry was demolished. I ran quickly up the treeline to check on our friendly Russian friends, hoping that by some fluke chance they were hidden from the fray of battle - Though when I made it there it seemed they had it worst of all.

Blood speckled the ground, their camp was in a worse state than ours. Their stake of the land had been completely removed and been replaced with a pile of corpses. I could not bear to even approach the camp, I knew that I was alone again. I kicked at the dirt and stumbled under a yew tree and sat down. How could this happen? Did this really happen to us?

I had no choice but to wait for the other hunters to arrive, it was dangerous here and I knew we needed to leave immediately.
