HnH won't load up

Postby dariun » Mon Jul 29, 2013 6:12 am

Hi all

I recently did a clean wipe of my laptop and reinstalled everything and Haven seemed to work fine last night.

I was prompted to update JRE to 7u25 by Avast before I went to sleep so I did. Now I find that if I try to open/run the "run" icon for Haven (under Union client, Enders or vanilla client) it simply won't work. A small DOS window pops up briefly as if it is beginning to load but that's all.

Any ideas what's wrong? Should I/can I roll back the Java update? :(

Thanks everyone!

Might need to change the path name since the new Java might be jre7 instead of jre6.

i.e.

original
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se

updated
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se

Hi Btaylor

I've managed to right click > edit the path but it actually looks like this >>>> "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se

It still doesn't seem to want to load up :(

Edit the run.bat file. Place a new line at the end with the command "pause" (no quotes). If there's any error messages generated, you should be able to read them as the window will stay open.

Brilliant! got it working again, thank you both!

Randomly the update to Java 7u25 didn't update the program folder so it was still down as jre7.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Java 7 and it works again now.
