5x5 challenge

Postby dackT-E » Wed Aug 28, 2013 6:14 pm

Welcome to the 5x5 challenge, in this challenge you have to make a self sufficient factory (no bots!). This could be a bacon farm! or a steel mill etc.
Requirements:
bed,
hf,
claim,
input chest(not fully required unless its a steel mill etc),
output chest (they dont have to be chest it could be any container),
food (best way is through idol/1x2 beatroot farm(i dunno why im helping you here but i guess its for the everyone noob-pro)), enough to keep you/your alt alive,
and the factory thingy w/e.

bonuses:
Wall to keep out raiders (this can be out side the 5x5 but have to touch the claim) +2pt
added curio farm (has to be in 5x5 area)+3
trade idol (if you add this you can exclude the input/output containers(in the 5x5 area))+2
barter stand(equivalent of the trade idol (5x5 area needed)(can have both))+1

Think you can do better? do it in 4x4 or better 3x3
like this: http://imgur.com/8wyxTnt thats my basic 3x3 tree farm without a bed or claim :3 (but i can still fit a bed in)

Let me see what you can do.

Depends entirely on the tree. A mulberry for instance should have no problem.

How can you make a self-sufficient anything with an industry that you will need to expand to more than 5x5, ie mining (steel)? Or is bringing input materials in from other sources OK?

Not 5x5, but small and efficient without
being small and efficient to the point of
inefficiency at the aim of being smaller
